Walls

from $198.00

The sent of damp earth and bleating frog. The solitary call of a warbling bird as light peels from day. A warm breeze caught on the wings of blowflies.

This landscape is so Australian it crackles under your skin. On this day the air was thick and laced with the edge of a late afternoon storm. The climb up through Eucalypt forest and into the Walls of Jerusalem National Park was hot and steep. A fine rain to the West diffused a rose coloured light and shrouded the bush in a soft haunting song. This to me as an Australian, is what I carry when I leave, a space between the harshness of the land and gentleness in its’ calling.

*Tasmanian Aboriginal people have had, and continue to have, a connection to the country where the Walls of Jerusalem is found. At the time of European arrival, this park was part of the territory of the Big River nation.

Frame Material

Sustainable Victorian Ash: The timber is milled, hand handed and painted || 5mm Acid-free Foamboard || 3mm Museum UV Plexiglas

Plexiglass is lighter than glass, helps to protect your work from UV damage and also has the added advantage of being shatterproof (and I promise you can’t tell the difference by looking at it).
